Metallic Shoes SS17

This season and the next one are all about metallic finish and textures in accessories. I've picked a selection of metallic style shoes from  various high street brands. They are going to stay, so invest in some shining styles because they are not going out of fashion any time soon.
These gorgeous high stiletto shoes are from the J by Jasper Conran range at Debenhams. This model is called "Joy" and they are great for the coming season of formal occasions like weddings, summer parties or the races. Made in sateen they've got this beautiful bejewelled buckle on the front. Just wearing these shoes with a pair of jeans and a white shirt will give a new twist to the whole outfit. Available in black, pale blue and also royal blue, like the famous shoes that Carrie picked up for her wedding in " Sex and the City" but without the hefty price tag.
This season I've seen more flats rather than heels and if you like your flats not only for your latte these two beauties by Dolcis Shoes are perfect. Either in rose gold or silver the Dolcis Kia will take you from work to the dance floor. They are very comfortable with a memory foam insock so that you can wear them all day.
At Dune you will find so many metallic finished shoes of all heights. Go from flat to stiletto in a range of beautiful colours. I've picked these mules but honestly there is a whole world at its stores.
The heels are 8.5 cm and they are perfect for a dress or a pair of trousers. The real passe-partout for your holiday suitcase.
Russell & Bromley is another of those stops when you need high quality shoes with no eye watering price. The Cufflink loafers are made in Italy with soft rose gold leather and with a silver trim detail on the front. Proper shoes for work without compromising on comfort.
When buying Toms shoes you know that the company will give another pair to a child in need with its campaign "One For One".  These slip-ons  are in grey canvas with gold foil dots details. They are vegan and with a sock liner that fights bacteria and removable insole. There is a version for kids as well which is so sweet. Toms has got several projects where everyone can support by buying its shoes, its eyewear, coffee at its shops and its handbags.
This Native peep toe shoe boot is by Jones the Bootmaker and it is made of Italian fabric and lined with leather. The block heel is 8 cm and given its shape, very comfortable. Jazz up an office outfit or a pair of denim and match your nail polish.
These slides by New Look will add glamour to a pair of trousers or a mini skirt and you will feel comfortable all day. The snakeskin texture makes them look like a million pounds and the bright colours will match virtually any outfit you have in your wardrobe.
Brogues are a classic style that can't be missed in our shoe closet. These golden pair are from White Stuff, gorgeous with their glitter finish on suede and all the details required from a classic brogue. The contrasting white sole gives  comfort to the feet.
Metal finish on trainers as well, with these amazing satin trainers by Next. They are comfortable and not only relegated at the gym. Now smart actiwear and sportwear are called Athleisure and I can say that these shoes are fitting in this category. After all they are so lovely that they must be seen around town.

Coast SS17 Collection

When you've got a formal event, a wedding or a party, or a day at the Races look no further than Coast. Every time I went there I could find something for those tricky events where you need to dress up but you don't want to dent your bank account. Also Coast is a one stop for all when thinking of accessorising your outfit with jewellery, bags and shoes. There is a section for everyday smart dresses as well. I've picked few looks from their SS17 collection. Some might not been in store yet but knowing  it, you can chase your favourite look and you can dash to the shop in order to be the first one to purchase it.
I love these trousers with a split wide leg in a bright red colour. At the moment they are available in black but check the stores and you can manage to secure this beauty. The top also is a preview. The outfit is perfect for who is not very keen on wearing a dress or skirt, but still wants to look feminine and smart.
This Bodice is very versatile. Here it is paired up with a maxi two tones plated skirt but it is perfect with a pair of smart trousers or to jazz up a pair of denim. Just add the right accessorises like a pair of heels and a clutch and regarding jewellery the best options are a pair of earrings and a statement bracelet. No need for a necklace given that the bow of the bodice makes the  bust already ornate.
This peplum hem dress with its cobalt blue colour will be great on any skin tone and very easy to accessorise, like this great clutch with  big micro fibre bow on the front and clasp. The dress will be great for a wedding or a summer party, one of those dresses that won't be left on your wardrobe but it will be used on many occasions.
This gingham dress is so St Tropez style and paired up with the right accessorises it will be great for a party or brought it with you on holiday. The cut is very flattering and the one shoulder neckline will highlight your bust. Accessorise it with something colourful and a red lipstick.
This A line midi dress has got the stripe trend of this season pinned down. Its multi coloured pattern makes it easy to choose bags and shoes. Stack a series of multicoloured bangles on your arms and depending on the shoes you are wearing, either heels or a platform, you can give a complete different vibe to your look.
Coast has got a great range of fashion jewellery with many in the very popular rose gold colour. You can match earrings and bracelets or necklaces and plan your whole outfit under one roof, trying on dresses and see how that particular necklace that caught your eyes could look like. Father ' s Day Gift Ideas

Sunday the 18th of June is Father's Day and maybe some will think that a post written now is a bit early, but with the hectic life we lead and very little spare time, it is better to look for a gift now rather than end up the day before with the usual tie or socks. Yes socks and ties are featured in this post but they are very stylish and not something grabbed at the supermarket and chucked in the trolley.
Dr Martens is an iconic British brand well known for its punk/rock boots in various colours. But Dr Martens  has got a range of shoes that are classic as well as having all the details of the Dr Martens that we know. The Oasis suede three eye brogue in mid blue and chestnut are made in England in partnership with CF Stead & Co and its suede. From the same range you can find  the Arthur Oasis suede boot in mid grey.
A young dad might appreciate this Classic Redford  messenger bag by Gola in nylon. This is another British brand that has been present  for decades, actually with Gola we are talking about a century, trading in trainers. This messenger bag is great if daddy is a cyclist or uses a scooter to go around in the city.
A pyjama  is a classic Father's Day gift, but when you choose Hanro it turns out as a chic Father's Day gift. The quality of Hanro nightwear and underwear for men is excellent and the new SS17 collection has got a lovely palette of pale blue and nice patterns. This gorgeous Oxford  laptop briefcase  by Australian brand Jekyll & Hide is made of butter soft and beautiful leather. There is an inside iPad pouch, a main compartment for a 15" laptop, space for chargers and other tech essentials and pockets at the front and at the back. I love that vintage look.
Trainers now can be worn not only at the gym. The new term for trainers worn outside of a sport field is Athleisure. These Luke 1977 Runner* in navy are great. They are lightweight with faux suede details and a knitted pattern. Check  for more ideas at

Nothing beats a good tie and with Simon Carter collection of silk ties you won't go wrong. Also at Simon Carter you can find so many gift ideas for your dad from cufflinks, to pocket squares or watches and small leather goods accessories.
These two power bracelets from Thomas Sabo are really great. The skull detail and the matt tiger's eyes beads or matt obsidian beads make a powerful piece of  men jewellery. These beads are known to be protective talismans and they are inspired by the Buddhist prayer beads. The skulls are in sterling silver.

A Stylish Office Desk

Most of us are spending hours at a desk and surrounding ourselves with nice things can lift up the mood. Obviously I am not talking about having plush teddy bears scattered all over , but something tasteful and stylish.
Cath Kidston has got some stationery items that I love. The calculator and the hole punch or the stapler and the sellotape dispenser, just to name a few are absolutely great. Maybe they are better if you work from home or in a small office where they won't risk to be pinched.
Always keep in your drawer a bottle of Merci Handy the hand gel. Delicious fragrances and perfect to clean your hands after  having spent hours at the photocopy machine. Look for them at Topshop, Selfridges and other retailers.
A scarf is a godsend while working in an office. Sometimes the air con goes at full blast and you just need to cover your neck in order to avoid  annoying pain. Or that beautiful day in the morning could turn out as a windy evening when you left from work so a scarf to wrap around you will see you home. Joules has got beautiful scarves and the Harmony model is lovely with its hand drawn print.
This badge camera bag by Next has got a chain shoulder strap and you can leave it inside your drawer. In case of an impromptu party at the last minute you can leave your day bag, transfer few essentials in this little one and then hit the tiles.
Bring your own lunch in these lovely lunch boxes from Paperchase. Keep your fruit, salads and other snacks sealed avoiding spills as well as saving the environment and your finances by bringing food from home.
If those high heels are a pain in the foot and the dress code is not so strict, indulge  and be comfortable with these Metallic flat Loafers by New Look. They are so smart that can be worn with formal trousers and they will jazz up your outfit as well as giving you relief from uncomfortable shoes.
Keep your drinks cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours with these insulated S'well Bottles. They are beautiful  to be seen and also you won't need plastic bottles that are just bad. You will find a wide range of patterns for the S'well bottles and a list of stockists can be found at

Plan the Holiday Suitcase

Maybe it is still early to think about it but better to plan in advance your holiday suitcase so that when the departure day arrives you are sure that nothing has been forgotten.
Nothing is more essential that a set of new luggages that are visible on the conveyor belt like these great suitcases from Radley. These are from the "Love Me Love My Dogs" range and they are available in several sizes to accommodate any kind of holiday from a week end to the world trip. The suitcases are ultra light in weight.
Next let's try to economise space by bringing just wet wipes instead of a set of bottles for your de make up routine. Burt's Bees Facial Towelettes are infused with natural ingredients and they are perfect for all skin types. Also you can have them with you on your hand luggage or in your handbags to refresh your skin while flying.
Attach to your hand luggage a lovely luggage tag by Cath Kidston where you can put the address of your hotel and just being stylish at the airport. You can attach this at your luggage when arriving at the hotel so suitcases won't be confused.
I love this Martina kaftan from East. It's colourful and perfect to wear it on the beach or as a mini dress or over a pair of denim. It is so versatile and goes with everything. Just pair it with any plain colour garment you've got.
Halto is an essential accessory if you are wearing a halter neck swimsuit or dress. It is  eight shaped and sliding it onto any tie strap halter neck garment, it will stop bruising, pain, blisters from wearing a halter neck garment, especially if you are a bit busty.
A floppy hat is a must when going on holiday. This is from Marc Cain and it is made of  paper fibre, so very breathable. Its black colour is very sophisticated. Pack it filling it up with underwear so it won't loose its shape.
This Phoenix Maxi Dress by Phase Eight  is beautiful. It has got all the best colours in the world and it is easy to match accessories, so it is the perfect choice  when away. Great with either high heels or flats. Add metallic accessories in order to nail the current trend.
A pair of Flipadrille shoes are a must  while packing for a holiday. Great worn at the airport so it will speed up your stay at the security desk and for flying too. Also perfect when touring your holiday destination. Joules has got a good choice of flats and these are my pick. Why the funny name?  Because they've got the appeal of a pair of espadrilles and the durable sole of a flip flop.
Figleaves has got a huge range of own brand as well as other popular ones. The gorgeous Bermuda Stripe Bikini  with padded top and tie side brief is one by Figleaves. The tropical print is  colourful and very contemporary.
Flip Flops are another must and who's better than Ipanema where you can find the chicest flip flops  around ? These sandals are great for day and night, they go well with beachwear or a long floaty dress as well as with jeans.

Hanro Lingerie

I am  a fan of Hanro, the Swiss company well known for its high quality and sophisticated lingerie, nightwear  and lounge wear. The fabrics used are among the best and  I love the mix between delicate laces and practical cotton, as well as pairing silk with cotton or wool depending on the season. The palette is always on trend. For this season the four Elements are the stars.
Look at the details of the Anna robe from the Sea Island Cotton range. The beautiful embroidered tulle finishes the silky cotton  so you've got a luxury robe with the comfort of the natural fibre exclusively cultivated on the West Indian Caribbean.
Hanro has added a lounge and leisure wear range perfect for staying at home or for your yoga lesson. The Lola tank top is in single jersey available in burgundy, powder rose and white while the Yoga pants and top are in melange grey.
The Lulu bra is gorgeous in this Palace Blue colour. The Leavertronic technology of this bustier gives a great fit with fewer seams and with the elastane in the fabric. There is not a bra fastener leaving for a superb silhouette. Available in black and pink as well.
The Mathilde top and shorts are the perfect nightie for those hot summer nights.  White is very sweet or if you prefer a burst of colour you can choose a sunny and bright coral.
The Moments bra is gorgeous with its floral lace and seamless sides for a perfect fit. Available in nude and white. The fabric is a blend of microfibre and elastane, so it is very comfortable. It is what I call basic luxury because  we all need a black or white or nude bra but we want them nice and feminine.
I like this lounge wear outfit by Hanro. The Ruby cardigan makes it perfect for relaxing at home or just nipping to the corner shop and the Hanna pants have got pockets that I find essential. The Yoga top complements the rest of the outfit.
The Touch Feeling range has got this fabulous coral shade for the bustier and the boxer brief. If the colour looks too bold the same model can be found in blue, brown and taupe.
The Valencia tank top in  cotton and lace is another of those basic luxuries that should always be in our lingerie drawer. The delicate lace makes it for a perfect top to wear under jackets or for a layered look. I could write forever about Hanro because it is a really fantastic brand. Check out its website  for more products and to find out about its stockists.
