Irregular Choice

You just fall in love with its shoes, shapes that remind of japanese footwear, suede in thousand of colours, incredible heels and a playful attitude reflected in these quirky but lovely shoes. Dan Sullivan started his business in 1999 and it's a success with awards won
Now a sale it's on and it's possible to grab a little piece of art for less.
I like the fact that this company is english and there are only three shops, one in Brighton, one in Carnaby Street in London and one in New York. They've got concessions in Schuh, but they retain this uniqueness that make other people in the street ask where did you buy them or just look at your feet while on the bus....and this feeling it's great.

Fashion Presentations

Different from shows, but still with models wearing the new collection and posing in a hall among visitors, waiters serving champagne and cupcakes. Sometimes a small catwalk is organized, or oddly cut outs with the last creations from the designer.

Carnaby Street Fashion Show

Carnaby Street ruled the world of fashion in the 60's and celebrating its 50th birthday nothing was better than a real catwalk with models wearing clothes of the shops that dot the Carnaby quarter, both independent and high street ones.
Difficult to choose the pictures, I just post some to wet your appetite.

Antonello

The name it's enough like other great names in fashion. Antonello is from Sardinia,  he lives in London and makes gorgeous handbags using a sardinian tecnique  called "pibiones" where the fabric is wowen in mills giving that particular look with these "grains" creating a design. Antonello uses organic cottons and wools dyed with natural dye from Sardinia. All his fabrics are handmade and the bags are handstiched one by one giving a kind of unique feeling. Some details like vintage clasps or straw handles make his handbags all one offs.

Top Model of Colour

Naomi Campbell said that there are not enough black models in the fashion industry, and Top Model of Colour is trying to bring them on the catwalks and magazine shoots with this competition now in its 4th years.
At the Jewel Club in Covent Garden I could see some of the semi finalists waiting for the Grand Final at the Porchester Hall.

Danish Wakeel

Fashion student, model and designer, Danish Wakeel take inspiration for his clothes from the past and launching his label DW at the club Amika he's shown to an appreciating crowd his latest creations. Focusing more on menswear rather than womenswear, al the same ladies won't be disappointed, still something might be for them, luckily, given that at the show we could glimpse something for us ladies.

Ethical fashion

It's incredible what can come out from a hose pipe or a juta sack, or a swimsuit. And ethical fashion now is very much in trend with big names coming up wioth ideas and beautiful items coveted by every fashionista.
Estethica is doing a great job sourcing these designers and group them under its wing to make them known to the fashion world.
ISSI makes gorgeous accessorizes from rubber and old and discarded hosepipes collected from fire brigades stations.

or From Somewhere transforming Speedo swimsuits in dresses

Every season something new crops up at the London Fashion Week.
Last season MaxJenny and her capes made with plastic bottle recycled, decorated with paintings made by her mother and despite being very thin can keep the cold away resisting up to -18 C. Incredible, but being from Sweden, producted in Denmark they are expert in cold weather.

Nina Dolcetti

I just love Nina Dolcetti 's shoes, her signature wedge, the highest I've seen, reminding me of a japanese tageta sandal.

They've got everything a fashionista is looking for...an eco conscious fashionista. Organic leather, handmade in London, and soo incredible sexy and colorful. I'm lucky to own a pair of gorgeous purple boots from this season collection, and I've turned my attention to a few pieces for the spring/summer 2011 collection. Absolutely delectable.
