Paperself: creative eyelashes

I love Paperself and the incredible creativity behind those little paper masterpieces. The new collection is absolutely stunning, with a limited edition sold only at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Halloween themed eyelashes with spiders and webs, seaside themes with seahorses, and flowers, and peacock feathers, and butterflies. Harvey Nichols is another point of sales and their website of course.
I had them applied at London Fashion Week and they are really eye catching (no puns intended). Probably looking at them one might think that they are too big, too heavy...not at all, I've been wearing them all day, using my camera, so I was expecting to have them a bit squashed. Not at all again, sometimes I've nearly forgotten to wear them because they are not intrusive at all. Judge for yourself, they are a little beauty, a great idea for a hen night goodie bag, their packaging is very nice. Definitely a must have for the festive season coming upon us.

Paolita : Swimwear with a vintage twist

I've met Anna Paola Papaconstantinou a year ago at London Fashion Week. She was with her first collection and I remember chatting with her and admiring her beautiful swimwear with the newborn brand Paolita. After one year and I meet her again and her new collection is more beautiful than ever. We are talking about the one that will hit the shops in the Spring, just in time for a holiday shopping knowing that what you are going to buy is going to be the star of the beach. If I were you I would pop down to Anthropology in Regent's Street or King's Road because in the Spring 2012 they will be the ones to stock Paolita's range.
I'm going to give you a small preview and finally it is official orange and purple are great together. After seeing this combination of colours on the catwalk, among the designers Carlotta Gherzi who will be featured soon in this blog, probably my friends will stop teasing me for this bold choice of colours. Paolita as well has got these two colours together.

London Fashion Week StreetStyle

What I love during LFW is the fact that just sitting in the courtyard at Somerset House you are treated to a fashion show every single minute, and not from the models. Everyone will come dressed up to the nine, with bold colours, loud prints, or just demure 1940's style. Probably somebody will be in a City Boy attire but with purple hair or oozing style like a Hollywood diva. These are just a small selection, some of the "subjects" where literally bombarded by camera flashes.

This is Adam a fellow blogger. Every day he has worn a different pair of shoes with fluffy animals

Yes Master: Lingerie for strong women

Who said that lingerie to be sexy has to be flimsy with lots of see through? Yes Master is far from that but it is sooo sexy. There is not transparency in the usual and crucial places in the new collection Black Label, the padded cups on bras and bodies are complemented by  wide shoulder straps encrusted with black swarowsky crystals. The woman who wears Yes Master lingerie is intelligent, ironic, strong willed and knows what suits her. She is not afraid to dare. Rigby & Peller is a stockist for this brand and also Urban Outfitters, two different kind of customers, the first serving the Queen, the other a favourite with fashionistas.
Matching set with shoulder pads

Fantastic body sheer fabric and padded cups

A feathered suspenders, great as a belt on a chiffon skirt or a pair of jeans, too beautiful to keep it only for a lucky one and inside four walls.

Anya Hindmarch - Lost and Found Presentation

London Fashion Week is a collection of events, shows, parties and presentations. While most of the presentations are set up at Somerset House for a few hours, Anya Hindmarch has rented the Strand Tube Station now closed to recreate a corner of old London. Entering the door that is always closed and chained gave me a little excitement. The opportunity to visit a ghost tube station, plus the occasion to view Anya Hindmarch's new Spring Summer 2012 collection was to big to be missed. The inspiration for this presentation and the collection comes from an exhibition visited by the talented designer about objects lost and found in the underground and never claimed back. We talk false limbs, books, umbrellas, bags and more. The setting  in the old tube station is great. The green and cream tiles takes you back in time and the typical kiosks in a tube station have been opened like the flower stall or the tea room and the photo booth or the newsagent displaying postcards, bags of crisps, souvenirs of London and more. Just have a look at the pictures to marvel at the creativity of this two days event and start taking notes of the bags pictured, they will hit the shops next spring.

Izmaylova - Spring Summer 2012 Collection

I find it very nice when a company sets a theme for a collection that spans from display to the  show itself, covering even small details like the invitation to the show printed as a mock train ticket. The collection Spring/Summer 2012 by Izmaylova is in fact inspired  when travelling by train was once very glamorous. Think Orient Express and the 1930's with floaty evening gowns in silk, satin, organza. The palette goes from ice white to metallic gold, to chocolate browns to black. Ostrich feathers and crystals embellished the beautiful garments. The train travels from the past to the future with little numbers in bright colours. Unfortunately my pictures are not great but from my seat the view was blocked by who was sitting on the previous row. The setting in the beautiful reception room at the Freemasons' Hall, venue to the Vauxhall Fashion Scout has been the perfect frame for this show that

Daniel J London: sophisticated latex

London Fashion Week will kick off in a few hours and already fashion shows are all around London. I've just came back from a very exclusive show at the boutique My Hotel in Bloomsbury where Daniel James introduced his latest collection to a selected crowd. The company established in the early 80s has been a forerunner with the use of high quality latex in fashion. After a sabbatical, Daniel James is back with this collection worthy of a red carpet occasion. Themed with gorgeous vintage jewellery by Linda Bee, skyscraper heels by Gian Marco Lorenzi, the models walked down the runway capturing every one's attention in these figure hugging outfits made in latex combined with lace  or impalpable chiffon. Solo J directed her team for an impeccable make up adding a finishing touch with gorgeous fake eyleashes by Paperself. and the team of Mark Woolley at Electric Hairdressing for L'Oreal Professional created these beautiful hair-do, a cross between Jane Eyre and Ms Sean Young as the replicant of the movie "Blade Runner". The music during the show and at the after party has been provided by the top DJ Ian Hadassi.
The My Hotel in Bloomsbury has been the perfect set up for this intimate show with exemplary service and availability. The event has been managed effortlessly and as  chic as always by Stephen Mahoney.
It has been very difficult to choose some pictures to post, the models have been fantastic.
