Diamond Jubilee Street Party at the Portman Village

The Diamond Jubilee is coming and London together with the rest of the United Kingdom have been organising events to enjoy this celebration which happened only once before with the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
Thanks to Anna Paola and Joseph Bachman from the boutique Paolita who invited me, I've discovered this hidden gem of shopping in the Portman Village, just off Oxford Street. During the event that has been threatened by a spiteful shower, the two streets forming this shopping quarter, Seymour Place and New Quebec Street, pulled out all their efforts to make a real party for residents and visitors. Shopping discounts, tastings of food from various restaurants and creative activities for children were just a small part of what people could enjoy on the 30th of May.
Models outside Paolita Boutique wearing two great swimsuit from the current collection. Paolita has got 50's style swimsuits and bikini in bright colours. The shop stocks some sophisticated lingerie as well.
Milliner Nigel Rayment for beautiful hats and fascinators for all the occasions, from weddings to Ascot and anywhere else a hat has to make a statement.

The Alterations Boutique, finally we know where to go for all sartorial needs.

La Masseria is selling delicious Italian food from the Region Puglia in the South. It is possible to eat in for a quick lunch or a break during your shopping sprees or buy all the ingredients needed for a special recipe. Ask for their loyalty card.

The Radisson Blu Portman Hotel was out in force offering their famous canapes and to let people aware about their Queen's Jubilee Barbecue on the 3rd and the 4th of June. Enjoy a three course BBQ for just £ 29.00 per person with kids under 8 eating for free.

Portman Village issued a card where it is possible to have discounts in shops and restaurants partecipating in this offer and it is possible to have one of these cards at www.portmanvillage.com
