Clipso London Hair Salon

With September summer is officially over, everyone is back from holiday and I believe that the new year is September rather than January because everything is starting in September, school, uni, a new job. So to mark the beginning of the "professional" year I've decided to have a hair revamp at one of the coolest hair salon in London, Clipso, a chain with branches outside of London too. Mine was at 35 Windmill Street London W1T 2JS, just off Tottenham Court Road.
I went for a pampering treatment called Shu Uemura Ceremony and my hair has been tended by senior hair designer Luke. My hair has been washed and then I had a relaxing head massage, done with a shiatsu massage. The products used have been from the Ultimate Remedy by Shu Uemura scented in wonderful fragrances. I had a special serum applied in order to revive my hair colour.
This is the Ultimate Remedy range from Shu Uemura which ingredients are Lotus flower and ceramide so the hair shines, is revitalised and soft. These products can be bought at Clipso Hair salon so that you can relive the treatment received and carry on with the great properties this range has for your hair.

At Clipso there is a catalogue of services that you can enjoy and I must admit, the price is very affordable and the quality of the service, the environment and the staff is sky high. Clipso is collaborating with two charities : My New Hair and Teenage Cancer Trust, so they provide a complimentary wig cutting service to customers undergoing chemotherapy. Just speak to the wig service hair team to know more.
This is my hair at the end of the treatment. Gorgeous isn't it ? Luke, after the blow dry, has used the Wand to create those loose curls. The hair is shining and the colour is luscious, thanks to the Shu Uemura products. Check online at to find a salon near you and to book an appointment.

A visit to the Vince Camuto boutique at  133 High Street Kensington London W8 4SG , or at the House of Fraser Concessions nationwide or at Fenwicks is worth it because I am sure you will come out of one of these shops with a pair of new shoes or a great bag.

Happy Socks and matching Underwear

I believe that everyone is hooked with Happy Socks and I shouldn't be wrong in thinking that at least a pair of socks is in most stylish people 's drawer. The variety of colours and the fact that now is fine to wear fancy socks has made this Swedish company a bestseller all over the world. The new season brings lots of patterns and underwear for both men and women. Love them already.
The Paisley pattern is amazing, the combination of colours absolutely great. The socks are unisex and they can fit up to a 11,5 size. My favourite are the purple/yellow and the blue/orange. The price is excellent as well at £ 8.00 per pair.
Gorgeous low socks for when you wear trainers or brogues and it is quite warm outside. You just need to have something between your feet and your shoes but it  is not cold enough for a proper sock. The blue/orange are lovely with the big dots. All of them are at £ 7.00 per pair for either men or women.
The Special Special are limited edition sock by Happy Socks and once they are gone, they are gone. I love the orange paint drip but it is hard to choose because they are all so nice that you want to own them all. Starting at £ 8.00 up to £ 15.00 it is something that you can afford to do it.
The news from Happy Socks this Autumn Winter season is a bright and lively underwear collection for men and women, matching the socks in the range. The model are very basic, briefs for women and free or fitted boxers for men, all made in 95% cotton and 5% elastane for the fitted boxers and the women briefs or 100% cotton for the free boxers.
Aren't they great ? The prints are lively and they are very comfortable, something cool and at the same time fun to wear. A pair of briefs are priced at £ 12.95 and it would be a great idea to match it with a pair of socks for an unusual gift. I would love to receive one .
Look at the selection for men, a rainbow of great colours and fun patterns, matching the uber popular socks. Priced at £ 19.95 I am sure that they will be a bestseller and an inspiration for the next Christmas wish list.
I could not miss these sweet baby socks, tiny replica of the adult ones. I love this combination pack which is priced at £ 10.00 for two pairs of socks. On the website you can choose among so many patterns and as well as buying online, you can find a list of stockists nationwide if you prefer to buy in a store. Go online at and start renewing your socks and underwear drawers.

Nine West AW Collection

It might be weird writing about Autumn Winter footwear but if you want to know the trends that will be with us for the next months it is better to be ready and look for your favourite items before stockists run out of colour or size. Nine West has got a fabulous collection for the coming months and I've already seen something I like. Needless to say the Nine West quality is very good, I've still got shoes that I've bought ages ago and they are still on trend because Nine West is always a step forward...literally.
The Tunic5 model in leopard printed pony skin is my favourite. I love the double zips, I love the low heels and the fact that the lining is in leather so your feet are going to be fine. The same model is in electric blue and black if animal print is not your thing, but I think that when in winter we are wearing mostly dark colours, we need a twist and this pair of ankle boots are perfect. At £ 135.00 you've got a pair of shoes  you can wear all day without suffer.
Everyone needs a pair of court shoes and these three versions of the BigBucks model are the best. Made in three everlasting colours like grey, black and red, these shoes are an investment and something to wear at every occasion. They are made of leather, with 11 cm heels but with the platform the height is less. At £ 110.00, these shoes are going to be with you forever.
Isn't it beautiful? The Jaiden model in burgundy suede with a 10 cm heel is gorgeous with a dress, with a skirt, with a pair of trousers, honestly the versatility  of this pair of shoes has got no end. It is available in black or navy as well but with all the red palette trend the next few months I believe that this is going to be a best seller. Priced at £ 115.00 it will be the perfect footwear that will take you from office to party.
The Softly model by Nine West is so sweet. All the trends are captured in one pair of shoes with a red coloured block heel 4.5cm high. A metal plaque is on the front and it is made of black suede with a contrast leopard printed pony skin. At £ 95.00 you have to be quick to snap up a pair before your size is sold out. Check more beauties at the Nine West section of the Kurt Geiger website at

Gli Oli Luxury Fragranced Candles and Diffusers

I came across the luxury range of Gli Oli candles and reed diffusers and I really fell in love with them. It is not just the choice of fragrances like Vetiver or Ginger, or sandalwood or Patchouli or Cedarwood, combined with other fantastic essential oils like cinnamon, or lemongrass, or lavender or.... , and it is not just because the ingredients are all natural, with no chemical and the aromatherapy grade essential oils are all sourced from ethical and sustainable resources, the packaging is beautiful, a deep shade of purple, and you know how obsessed I am with this colour. Putting all these characteristics together I've found a new products to rave about.
I believe that a candle or a reed diffuser is always a fantastic gift to give at any occasion. It could be a birthday, or an anniversary, a farewell present or a "congratulations for your new home" token. Christmas is another right occasion where buying a candle or a reed diffuser is giving you the certainty that your gift will be much appreciated. And why not buying a candle or a reed diffuser to treat  yourself  or for a special occasion.
This gorgeous Gli Oli candle is Vetiver &.... where the & stands for a cocktail of fantastic       essential oils like Rose geranium, cardamom and bergamot. The final result is a calming blend, perfect to be lit in the bedroom when needed. The wax is 100% natural soy wax, a cotton wick and it will burn for at least 40 hours. The reed diffuser is available with the same blend.
The Gli Oli  reed diffuser in Patchouli &...  has got a blend of frankincense, ylang ylang, cypress and sweet orange as well as patchouli, the main ingredient. The liquid is hand blend and hand poured and the rattan reeds are hand cut and hand dyed in their own unique purple colour. The pure essential oils are added to the carrier base which is made from soya based renewable sources. Its fragrance is revitalising, great for a dining room and maybe the bedroom as well. The candle in this fragrance is available as well.
The packaging for the Gli Oli candle is so sophisticated, it would not be out of place in a wedding list or when invited to a formal dinner. This beauty is the Cedarwood &... with cinnamon, ginger, juniper and lemongrass for a woody/spiced aroma with a twist. The candles are all at £ 45.00 each.
This is the beautiful packaging for the Gli Oli reed diffuser with the rattan reeds tied up with a matching ribbon. The one in the picture is the Ginger &... with black pepper, lime, basil and grapefruit, quite spicy in aroma. I think that I could use the same ingredients for a delicious summer salad and burn the matching candle or use the diffuser in the dining room. All the diffusers are priced at £ 45.00.
The other fragrance left in the collection is the relaxing Sandalwood &... with a blend of black pepper, vetiver and lavender essential oils. Honestly I would not know what to choose among all the products. Every  candle or diffuser has got some aroma that I love. Maybe Cedarwood &... and Patchouli & are two of my favourites, but I must admit that all of them smell deliciously. have a look at the website and let me know which one is the one you've chosen.

Gosh Cosmetics

Maybe not many know that Gosh Cosmetics has been around for quite a long time. established in 1945 in Denmark as a pharmaceutical company, it moved to the beauty area and in the mid 1990s it became a worldwide success with its good quality products at a fraction of the price of a premium label. Gosh Cosmetics are sold exclusively at Superdrug and from the 30th of July the Autumn Winter 2014 collection with all the new colours is available to buy.
The Mineral Powder is very silky and it is perfect for a flawless make up. The consistency is very light and its ingredients made it suitable for vegans. The price is very good at just £ 9.99 and its brush made with 100% natural hair at £ 7.99 has got the right shape to blend the powder into the skin. I always use powder over my foundation to take off the shine and it is very difficult to find loose powder that doesn't break the bank account. With the Gosh Mineral Powder I've found finally quality and result.
A new palette is the must have at a change of season and the Gosh 9 Shades Eye Palette has got all the colour trends in a very compact size. The price is affordable for everyone and it is a lovely idea for a present as well at £ 9.99. The palettes range from sophisticated nudes, aqua eyes or bright colours, so that you can easy find what you need for the next season.
The Gosh Giant Blush is one of those must haves that has to be kept in your bag at all time. As well as a blusher you can use it as a lipstick just staining your lips using your little finger. It is a cream to powder product so a touch of lipgloss will keep it on place and you will have matching cheeks and lips. All this for just £ 6.99.
Nail lacquers are never enough and the new Gosh shades are amazing. The texture is sparkling, pearly and it is quite holographic in stunning grey shades. At £ 3.99 it is worth it to buy all the 5 new colours : Stardust, MilkyWay, Moonlight, Million Star and Night Sky. These nail polishes are suitable for vegans.
Eight new shades for Autumn Winter at Gosh with the new Velvet Touch Lipstick at £ 6.49. Creamy, long lasting colours, Vitamin E to protect your lips from free radicals and super moisturised lips thanks to the vegetable oils in the ingredients. The colours are the most popular, because at the end of the day when in front of a counter where 25 shades of reds are on display, you always reach for the classic ones so from a logic Scandinavian point of view, there is no waste or  returns or a warehouse full of lipsticks that will never sell.
The Gosh Double Precision Mascara is what everyone needs in her make up bag. A mascara with two brushes, the larger one to be used on the upper lashes for extreme volume while the small brush is for the lower lashes for a better definition. At £ 7.99 you will have coated lashes to perfection. I would not wait for more and I would head down to any Superdrug nationwide in order to stock up on Gosh Cosmetics.

Leticia Haute Coiffure and the National Blow Dry Day Challenge

Leticia Haute Coiffure is a real gem at 59-61 Chiltern Street London W1U 6NG. Pierre Doumit is the creative director and he has been taken care of many VIPs ' locks forever. On the 28th of July, Pierre has embarked in the challenge of styling anyone' s hair in 15 minutes including a relaxing wash with a scalp massage and I went to test it with my long hair. During National Blow Dry Day I've visited his new salon and I've been invited to have my hair washed. A nice head massage relaxed me to no end before having my hair rinsed.
As you can see my hair is very long, but Pierre Doumit, with skilled movements blow dried it to perfection while I was cuddling gorgeous Jack, his lovely dog. This service is great if you need to have your hair done during lunch time. I can assure you that between wash and blow dry it took no more than 15 minutes. At Leticia Haute Coiffure high quality  products and professionalism are just a must.
Here I am with Pierre Doumit and I am happy, my hair is beautiful, luxuriant and after 4 days it is still clean and the styling is still in place like I've just left the salon. The fantastic Kerastase products helped to give me a shine and silky hair.
